Artist's Description

The 1887 Berlin Iron Bridge Co. bridge across the mighty Missisquoi at Highgate Falls was commissioned by the 3-member Highgate Selectboard that included S.S. Stevens, a Selectman at the time. This Douglas & Jarvis patent parabolic truss bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places. Mr. Stevens' father farmed the land and built the house I now own.
