Description
Ordnance? The Vehicle Assembly Building, or VAB, at Kennedy Space Center was built to allow for the vertical assembly of the Saturn V rocket for the Apollo program; it continued in service through 2011 for the Space Shuttle program. It is the largest single-story building in the world and capable of making its own weather. Artists including Robert T. McCall and my friend Deborah Deschner Iazzo have all painted the VAB for the NASA art program.
