Artist's Description

The railroads of north central Arizona were built to support Arizona's richest copper mine. The Verde Canyon Railroad (formerly the Verde Valley Railroad operated by the Santa Fe, Prescott and Phoenix Railroad Company) now carries fuel and freight to the Phoenix Cement Company and tourists along the scenic Verde River. The snowplow seems a bit out of place on a summery desert day.
